Together with the other Nordic countries, Sweden is one of the world’s most digitalized societies. This has brought major productivity gains and smoother public services, but also invisible and unhealthy dependencies on a small number of technology vendors.

Russia’s increasingly aggressive stance towards Sweden, China’s expanded global power, and the sharp shift in US policy have highlighted Sweden’s and Europe’s vulnerable position in several areas, including energy, weapons systems, and IT systems. The panel series aims to discuss Sweden’s situation through conversation and collectively increase understanding of the challenges the country faces in relation to digitalization.

The non-profit association Open Knowledge Sweden, together with volunteers from the industry initiative EuroStack, has assembled four panels that will explore the issue over one morning.
